A stronger frame to support a better building!

The backbone of a Bel-Wood building is a rock solid framework of southern yellow pine posts, and many of our buildings use machine stress rated lumber. Some manufacturers of metal covered buildings use support posts and frames of laminated lumber. Not Bel-Wood Buildings!

Our square, 6 x 6 support posts are of select, southern yellow pine. They are .60 CCA treated to resist decay and insect attack. And the preservative is applied by means of vacuum pressure-forcing the preservative deep into the cellular structure of the wood. In fact, our support posts are so well preserved, we warranty them against rot or decay for 40 years!

For even more protection, Bel-Wood Buildings can use machine stress-rated lumber. Machine stress rating is done by an electromechanical system that accurately measures and labels each piece of lumber for stiffness and strength. This rating allows Bel-Wood Buildings to select lumber that precisely fits the requirements of each framing member, assuring maximum load-carrying capacity at a minimum cost.

The 2 x 4 roof purlins and 2 x 6 wall girts in a Bel-Wood Buildings structure are 25 percent stronger than those from other leading manufacturers. Our full-framed gable end trusses allow for easy expansion and maximum strength.

Every truss is engineered and built to Truss Plate Institute standards with a 20 psf snow load. Plus, our corner bracing, truss X-bracing and lineal bracing are standard features of every Bel-Wood building.
